Kanye West in a tweet on Sunday, 5th July 2020 announced he will run for president of the United States of America. He tweeted, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for President of the United States! Adding an American flag emoji and hashtag #2020vision
Twitter was in a frenzy! Everybody had something to say. “He’s gone off again” some said. It was just a joke to some. Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of Tesla congratulated him “You have my full support!”
Could this be true? If not he might be pitting himself against a man he admires, Donald Trump.
America will go to the polls on 3rd November 2020. Can Kanye meet all state-specific filing requirements and deadlines in time for voting?
There was so much buzz in the media over this announcement. Major news outlets like Bloomberg, The Guardian, Forbes, CNN, BBC couldn’t simply ignore. There are major concerns since he hasn’t filed his candidacy yet. It is so surprising how one tweet can cause so much frenzy. The power of one tweet!
Kanye in April 2020 was declared a billionaire by Forbes “West, in just a few years, has created a brand that’s challenging Nike’s Air Jordan for sneaker supremacy. It’s one of the great retail stories of the century” according to Forbes
